Stick of Butter Baked Rice

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - Long-grain white rice
  • - French onion soup beef broth, or beef consomme
  • - Unsalted butter sliced into smaller pieces or pats
  • - Garlic powder optional
  • - Chopped chives for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 400°F to 425°F.
  • In a large bowl or directly in a greased baking dish, combine the long-grain white rice with your choice of broth or soup. If using garlic powder, mix it in at this stage for added flavor.
  • Evenly distribute the sliced butter over the top of the rice mixture, ensuring that it covers as much of the surface as possible.
  • Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 minutes, carefully remove the foil and return the dish to the oven. Bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Once done, remove the dish from the oven and fluff the rice with a fork before serving. Optionally, garnish with chopped chives for a pop of color.
  • For best results, make sure to use long-grain white rice, as it cooks evenly and maintains a fluffy texture.
  • If you opt for brown rice, be aware that it may require additional liquid and a longer cooking time. Feel free to experiment with different soups or add-ins to find the perfect flavor combination for your palate.
  • Enjoy your Stick of Butter Baked Rice!
