Death By Chocolate Bundt Cake

Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • - ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • - 2 cups granulated sugar
  • - 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • - ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • - 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • - 1 cup butter softened
  • - 4 large eggs
  • - 1 cup sour cream
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1 ¼ cups water
  • - 1 box chocolate pudding mix 5.9 oz
  • - Chocolate chips optional, for folding in

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a Bundt pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • In another mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract into the wet mixture, and then gradually add the water. Mix until fully combined.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. If desired, fold in chocolate chips at this stage for added texture.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes before inverting it onto a serving plate.
  • Let the cake cool completely before preparing the ganache or frosting.
  • For an extra touch, consider adding a rich chocolate ganache on top of your cake. To prepare the ganache, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream over low heat until smooth, then pour it over the cooled cake. Allow the ganache to set before serving.
  • As a tip, ascertain that all your ingredients are at room temperature for the best mixing results, and feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate for the ganache to create your perfect chocolate experience!
